Our Christmas picture right before all the "fun" happened.
December 24th, we picked up Grandma and Uncle Dave at 3:30pm. They went home to rest, and we headed to church for service. That should have tipped us off, as Grandma is always energetic enough for a church service...
Christmas morning. The kids didn't get up particularly early. We got up and ate breakfast, and then we sang and read the Christmas story. We opened presents. Then, we made a nice lunch of Ham, Green bean casserole, Mashed Potes, Broccoli Salad, Carrot Salad, olives, pickles, croissant rolls, sparkling juice. We saved Angel food cake for later.
In the afternoon, Paxton and Dave went out for a walk with Grandma and Lisa was preparing to nap when they came back and said something was wrong with Grandma. She was not responsive. We had to call 911. The ambulance came and put an IV in her. We went to the hospital from around 3pm to 6pm. Not a fun day to spend Christmas, but after just 1.5 liters they sent her home. She still looked very dehydrated, but she managed to eat some soup and drink some tea. She went to sleep early. She stayed on the couch for 7 days of the 7 days they were here. Not too fun of a vacation for any of us...
