Cruises are so famous for their food, so it's the best place to try things we've never had before. It's a terrible place for anyone who is trying to lose weight. We have never lost weight on a cruise. Celebrity Cruises are pretty popular for their yummy dishes. We were really impressed with their

20th Anniversary Celebration

For our 20th Anniversary celebration, we decided to sail on Celebrity's Constellation. It was a close drive from Georgia, so we had to take advantage of being in the south, and last minute deals! It was a nice trip.

This became our family's hang out secret. Lots of guest did not know that these desserts were free. All the time. No matter how many. Did not need to buy coffee. The reason why we gained weight.

Cherry Blossoms Galore in Macon!

Springtime in Georgia is just nice. Right before the bugs come out, the flowers bloom all around. The tulips, daffodils budding all along the roadside are just lovely. The dogwoods pop out all over the place. And then the cherry blossoms are breath taking. Apparently, some person planted a bunch of cherry blossoms in Macon "way back when", and the trees have just about taken over the city. It's beautiful for see. Pale pink and misty white. There is a "Cherry Blossom" path that we can drive around Macon that lets us see many of the cherry trees that line the streets. The homes really get festive and put pink bows all over their mail boxes and door. We were so enamored with the trees that we took the path twice.  After the cherry trees bloom, the magnolias bloom, and various other trees start sharing their magnificent flowers to passersby. 

And then the bugs came out.

Our city is below the "gnat-line", and several locals told us to watch out. We thought it was some silly saying until May when the gnats came out, like locusts from Exodus. Anytime we were outside, hundreds of gnats would come and attack our eyes, nostrils, ears. It was impossible to enjoy the outdoors. And there was absolutely NOTHING that would repel them. We sprayed ourselves with cancerous amounts of deet, and maybe 90 instead of 100 gnats still attacked our orifices. People told us that fabric softener sheets would help. We walked around with sheets on our heads all day long outside, and that didn't work. In the end, avoiding the gnats by staying inside was the only source of comfort. Poor Paxton suffered the most when mowing the lawn. He had goggles and a face mask on while mowing. And even then, he did the "Warner Robins Salute" waving one's arms wildly around one's head like a crazed person. Locals don't use their arms. They use well directed puffs of their breath pointed around their heads when chatting with you. It was unbearable to us foreigners.

And just like that, the gnats disappeared. We were warned that soon, the mosquitoes will take over the gnats.
